  4. 23. März 2024 · Don Byas (1912-72) was a swing-era musician, several years older than Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk, who were the oldest of the beboppers. Classically trained on violin, clarinet and alto saxophone, he switched to tenor saxophone on moving to the West Coast in the 30s.
