I’ve been using Gosling’s Black Seal or Bacardi Black in my Jungle Birds. Today I used Hamilton Jamaican Pot Still Black Rum. The rum itself tastes like some automotive fluid but the Jungle Bird is to die for!
In fact, I prefer a Daiquiri made with a crazy flavor - high proof rum, especially Pusser's Gunpowder Proof. Any of the smaller Jamaican producers, like Hampden and Worthy Park, anything heavy potstill, Fiji, Haiti, and St Lucia (pre-Spiribam). I would kill to have a Daiquiri made from the old Hamilton St Lucia again. 3.
