William Nigel Ernle Bruce ( 4. September 1895 in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexiko – 8. Oktober 1953 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien) war ein britischer Schauspieler, der vor allem durch seine Auftritte als Dr. Watson neben Basil Rathbone in insgesamt 14 Sherlock-Holmes-Filmen zwischen 1939 und 1946 bekannt wurde.
William Nigel Ernle Bruce (4 February 1895 – 8 October 1953) was a British character actor on stage and screen. He was best known for his portrayal of Dr. Watson in a series of films and in the radio series The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, starring with Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes in both.
A prominent member of the resident English colony in Hollywood, Nigel Bruce at one time captained the cricket club established by fellow actor and compatriot C. Aubrey Smith in 1932 (other members included P.G. Wodehouse, Boris Karloff, Ronald Colman and David Niven).
