Amazing either way. Mads is phenomenal along with all actors in this film. Definitely slower than American historical films. I very much enjoy that character build up. I was the youngest one there and 1 of 2 women. I’m in my mid twenties for reference. 3. Reply. Award.

Mads Mikkelsen is a terrific actor. I recently finished watching the Hannibal TV series and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Mads Mikkelsen’s performance. As a long time fan of The Silence of the Lambs, I never expected someone to portray Hannibal Lector as good as Anthony Hopkins.
Mads was the director's first choice, but the studio got greedy and wanted Depp for name recognition and extra box office appeal (har de har har har). Mads Mikkelsen - suave, charismatic, menacing, can be both gentle and cruel, who’s convincing as Dumbledore’s ex-lover. Looks matches Jude Law’s.
