The Black Forest (German: Schwarzwald [ˈʃvaʁt͡svalt] ⓘ) is a large forested mountain range in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany, bounded by the Rhine Valley to the west and south and close to the borders with France and Switzerland.
