Frank Foster (* 23. September 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio; † 26. Juli 2011 in Chesapeake, Virginia [1]) war ein US-amerikanischer Jazzmusiker (Tenor- und Sopran- Saxophon, Arrangement und Komposition), der besonders aus seiner Zeit bei Count Basie bekannt ist.
In den 30er-Jahren waren der hotte Herschel Evans und der prototypisch coole Lester Young gewesen. Ab 1953 waren es Frank Wess und Frank Foster, deren Partnerschaft 1954 in der Basie-Aufnahme „Two Franks“ verewigt wurde. Die Spielweise der beiden war bei weitem nicht so gegensätzlich wie die von Evans und Young.
