  1. Patrice Louise Rushen (born September 30, 1954) is an American jazz pianist and R&B singer. She is also a composer, record producer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and music director. Her 1982 single " Forget Me Nots " received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance .

  2. Other highlights include the midtempo “Sun Goddess,” with it’s carefully crafted vocal chorus and insistent keyboard work by George Duke, and the smoky “Let’s Jam,” a forum for not only Powell’s furtive guitar work but also Patrice Rushens engaging acoustic piano.

Thankfully, both her longtime loyalists and those who may be new to her many musical charms will have the opportunity to celebrate her legacy tomorrow evening when she fittingly receives the Trailblazer Award during the Salute THEM Awards ceremony.
