The avant-garde Alien 3: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was written for the motion picture of the same name. Scored by Elliot Goldenthal , it was his first big mainstream score; he described it as an experiment and spent a whole year creating it.

Für Alien 3 (1992) komponierte Goldenthal teils aleatorische Musik. Für den ersten Satz seines Blechbläserquintetts No. 2 (1980), Quinque , verwendete er kontrollierte Improvisation auf Grundlage einer serialistischen Reihe von fünf Tönen.
Career. Goldenthal has written works for concert hall, theater, dance and film. His work includes music for films such as Pet Sematary, Alien 3, Michael Collins, Batman Forever, Heat and the Academy Award -winning score for Julie Taymor's Frida, a movie in which Goldenthal had a small acting part as a "Newsreel Reporter".
