Brett Reed (born July 12, 1972) is an American musician, best known as the original drummer for the punk rock bands Rancid and Devils Brigade. He joined Rancid in November 1991 and left 15 years later. He played on every Rancid release up to their 2003 album Indestructible.

Brett Reed left Rancid due to touring fatigue, disillusionment with the music industry, and feeling like the band had sold out. He has not given any interviews or public updates since then, while Branden Steineckert replaced him as the new drummer.

The band was formed by Armstrong, Freeman, and former drummer Brett Reed, who left the band in 2006 and was replaced by Steineckert. This lineup recorded their first album, with Frederiksen joining the band on their subsequent tour.
