Simpson is guilty of terminal consistency- he'll never deliver a wack verse, but he can get into a run of just giving you exactly what you expect at exactly the level you're expecting. That's pretty much what he does here on an album that feels like it was stitched together out of a maxi-single's worth of material to reach album length.
