The article for the third movie has been deleted three times due to a lack of sources, and an unsigned comment above seems to agree with this. It's certainly not a trilogy in that case; but I think this would be better off prodded or sent to AfD. Most of the contents appear to be original research.

Adam McKay has the possibly complete, possibly incomplete Mediocre American Man trilogy (aka the Colon trilogy), in which Will Ferrell plays a mediocre American man with the initials R.B. (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and maybe/maybe not Anchorman 2).
My go to example is The Negotiator, starring Kevin Spacey and Samuel L. Jackson. It's perfectly mediocre: every movie better than The Negotiator is good, and every movie worse than it is bad.
