Afterglow is the third box set compilation by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). It was released in 1990 with liner notes by music critic and editor Ira Robbins of Trouser Press. A different two-CD compilation with identical artwork was issued simultaneously under the title The Very Best of The Electric Light Orchestra .

Das Electric Light Orchestra wurde 1970 in Birmingham von den Mitgliedern der Band The Move, Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne und Bev Bevan gegründet. Though not billed as Electric Light Orchestra (or the abbreviated ELO), in 2012, Lynne and Tandy reunited, largely under Lynne's name, to perform stripped-down acoustic versions of their ELO hits for the BBC television special Jeff Lynne Acoustic: Live from Bungalow Palace.
It's very electronic and synthesized, fully orchestrated, filled with Lynne's classic harmonies, has a nice middle section of lush digital synths filled with sound effects, and a modern day I Am the Walrus-style ending.
