Chi-Town Budget Show (1988) was a recording of a Chicago's Park West nightclub broadcast. In 1989, his album EEE featured the Uptown Horns. In 1992 Restless Records released a Don Dixon "Best Of" album entitled (If) I'm A Ham, Well You're A Sausage.
23. Feb. 2009 · Jones would poke fun at Dixon and encourage his self-deprecation; she would even playfully mock his songs (a habit displayed to great effect on Dixon’s live Chi-Town Budget Show CD, on which Jones sings his “Heart in a Box” to the tune of John Denver’s “Annie’s Song.”)

Chi-Town Budget Show is a fine, unadorned document of a March ’88 live radio broadcast, with Dixon backed by Marti Jones and North Carolina’s Woods. It’s smart, ingratiating fun; the two Dixon/Jones acoustic tracks which open the disc provide a keepsake of the duo’s endearing live presence.
