Allan Glen's School was, for most of its existence, a local authority, selective secondary school for boys in Glasgow, Scotland, charging nominal fees for tuition.
Allan Glen’s School, founded in 1853, developed from a school providing a "good practical education for the sons of tradesmen", to being the principal science school in Scotland and was often referred to as ‘the High School of Science.
The first of these schools would become Allan Glen's School, and the residue of his estate was to be used to build and endow an industrial school for destitute children. Subsequent Education Acts expanded the education base and reduced the need for the second school, which was never built.

Any list of distinguished Old Boys of Allan Glen’s School is bound to be controversial but the following names indicate the wide variety of professions in which boys from the school were successful. They include such names as Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Dirk Bogarde and Lord Todd of Trumpington.
