Burnside College students today celebrated a fantastic set of GCSE results. While nationally the pass rate fell to 73%, students at Burnside achieved a pass rate of 78% in their GCSEs . Despite the pass rate falling nationally, the percentage of students who achieved a 4+ pass in both English and maths has stayed the same as last year 72% .

Burnside College is a comprehensive school in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear, that has evolved from a technical school to a high school to a college. Learn about the origins, changes and features of the school buildings and curriculum over the past century.
Burnside College is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Wallsend, North Tyneside, England. [1] History. The school was opened on 15 July 1960 by the chairman of Parsons under the name, Wallsend County Technical School. It cost approximately £280,000 for the building work, the furniture and the equipment.
