17. Mai 2007 · Southern Cross is a rich-sounding record, elevated by the nearly full-time collaboration of Tim Finn as lyricist and vocalist. It’s also a serious record: “Dr. Fidel,” “A Million Reasons Why,” “Rich And Poor.” They sing of class distinctions, dictators, unscrupulous doctors.

As a writer, producer and solo artist, Phil Manzanera has worked with many of the luminaries of modern music, such as Steve Winwood, David Gilmour, John Cale, Godley & Creme, Nico and John Wetton. He has co-written material with many artists, including Brian Eno, Tim Finn, Robert Wyatt and Gilmour.
21. Jan. 2019 · Tim co-wrote that with Phil Manzanera (I've read that for these songs, Tim wrote the lyrics and the melodies and Phil M the rhythms) for the "Southern Cross" album which was recorded in 1988-89, i.e. around the same time he was working on "Tim Finn".

Received a copy in the mail today (signed by Phil). Got a chance to listen to it once. The music has a very strong Latin influence. Will need to listen more to the album.
