1. Juli 2022 · Inclusion is a key dimension of democracy that underlines the principles of liberty and civic and political equality for all and finds its clearest expression in universal suffrage. In this sense, inclusion is requirement (input) and at the same time achievement (output) of democracy – a double source of its legitimacy.
Inclusion and Democracy explores additional and deeper conditions of political inclusion and exclusion, such as those involving modes of communication, attending to social difference, representation, civic organizing, and the borders of political jurisdictions.
