Temple Beautiful is the twelfth full-length album by American singer-songwriter Chuck Prophet. It was released in the U.S. on February 7, 2012, through Yep Roc Records. Burger Records released a limited run of 150 cassette tapes.

Feb. 2012 · Set for February 7, 2012 release on Yep Roc Records, the album is named for the ill-fated club of the same name, “Temple Beautiful is a long closed punk rock club located in the old Reverend Jim Jones’ People’s Temple. Where I saw my first gigs,” says Prophet, who co-produced the album with Brad Jones.
Nobody harneses the distinctive sound of a Fender Telecaster quite like Chuck Prophet and, as the opening chords of ‘Play That Song Again’ ring out with an undeniable twang, Prophet starts Temple Beautiful with a statement of intent from the off.

Ob man dabei die inhaltlichen Verweise in Bezug auf San Francisco nachvollziehen kann oder nicht, ist eigentlich egal, „Temple Beautiful“ ist so oder so ein gelungenes Beispiel für urwüchsigen melodischen Rock’n’Roll, den Prophet schon immer besser als andere seiner Kollegen beherrscht hat.
