Ju-Chin Chu (Chinese: 朱汝瑾; pinyin: Zhū Rújǐn; December 14, 1919 – November 15, 2000) was a Chinese-American chemical engineer. He was the father of Steven Chu. Life and career. Chu was born in Liuhe, Taicang, Suzhou.
Chinh Chu is the Founder and Senior Managing Director of CC Capital. In this capacity, he has spearheaded the creation of five SPACs since 2016. The first, CF Corp., raised $1.2 billion in order to purchase Fidelity & Guaranty Life.

Chu comes from a family of highly educated white collar professionals and scholars. His father, Ju-Chin Chu, earned a doctorate in chemical engineering from MIT and taught at Washington University in St. Louis and Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, and his mother studied economics at MIT.
