  1. 15. Aug. 2013 · Bobby Slone: A Bluegrass Life. Bobby Slone was born June 13, 1936, in Pike County, Kentucky, and passed away on Monday, August 12, due to rectal cancer. A left hander, Robert ‘BobbySlone was an important member of one of the most influential modern bluegrass bands: J.D. Crowe & the New South.
