Rushes is the second album by the Fireman, released in 1998. The title, when combined with the band name, references a lyric from the McCartney-penned Beatles song "Penny Lane": "And then the fireman rushes in / From the pouring rain / Very strange."

20. Sept. 1998 · Delving deeper into the ambient textures and elongated melodies of their debut, Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest, Paul and producer Youth – again calling themselves The Fireman – pushed guitars to the periphery and created an album built around more textural and laidback grooves.

18. Sept. 2020 · Rushes was the second album credited to The Fireman, the collaboration between Paul McCartney and producer Youth. After the release of 1993’s Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest in 1993, McCartney was asked by his fan club magazine, Club Sandwich why he chose the name The Fireman.
