The Bela Session is an extended play (EP) by the English post-punk band Bauhaus. Released on November 23, 2018, by Leaving Records in advance of the 40th anniversary of the band's formation, the EP features five songs recorded by the group during their first recording session, which took place on 26 January 1979.

The Bela Session is a full release of Bauhaus' first studio session from January 26 1979, where the iconic "Bela Lugosi's Dead" was recorded. This is the first and only official reissue of "Bela Lugosi's Dead" on vinyl, and the first time 3 of the 5 tracks have been released.
The best-known version—the one enshrined in the 1985 singles anthology, Bauhaus 1979-1983—comes from 1982’s Press the Eject and Give Me the Tape, a compendium of early live performances.

31. Okt. 2022 · The Bela Session captures the first time Bauhaus recorded together, January 26th, 1979, just six weeks after forming as a band. This is the first release of that complete recording session, including three previously unreleased tracks.
