2. Feb. 2023 · Derek Hilland is the new keyboardist and singer of REO Speedwagon, replacing Neal Doughty who retired in 2023. He has played with Iron Butterfly, Whitesnake, Foreigner and Rick Springfield.

The band announced Derek Hilland (ex-Iron Butterfly) as a touring replacement for Doughty. On November 7, 2023, Hall announced he was taking a leave of absence from touring to prepare for and undergo back surgery for an accident he had a number of years earlier. Hall is expected to rejoin the band on tour in 2024.
