Lucius "Tawl" Ross (October 5, 1948 – January 3, 2024) was an American musician. He was the rhythm guitarist for Funkadelic from 1968 to 1971, and played on their first three albums. [1] He left the band in 1971 soon after a debilitating experience with LSD, [2] [3] which is reported to have resulted in brain damage. [4]

11. März 2024 · Der Gitarrist zog sich über zwei Jahrzehnte aus dem Musikbusiness zurück und tauchte als Musiker erst Mitte der Neunziger wieder auf. Damals veröffentlichte er als Tal Ross a.k.a. Detrimental Vasoline sein einziges Solo-Album GIANT SHIRLEY. Bereits am 3. Januar ist Lucius "Tawl" Ross mit 75 Jahren verstorben.

1. Juli 2018 · In 1964, Clinton recruited a rhythm section, consisting of lead guitarist Eddie Hazel, bassist Billy “Bass” Nelson, rhythm guitarist Lucius “Tawl” Ross, and drummer Ramon “Tiki” Fulwood. in 1967, The Parliaments released their first hit single, “ (I Wanna) Testify.”
