Clyde " Skip " Battin (February 18, 1934 – July 6, 2003) was an American singer-songwriter, bassist, performer, and recording artist. He was a member of the Byrds, the New Riders of the Purple Sage, and the Flying Burrito Brothers .
Most famous as the bassist for The Byrds, Skip first found fame as half of Skip & Flip. Before The Byrds, he lead Evergreen Blueshoes before recording four albums with New Riders Of The Purple Sage between '74 and '76.

9. Dez. 2016 · As a journeyman musician, Battin is probably best known for his position as bass guitarist and songwriter with the Byrds from 1970 to 1973. He was—by eight years—the oldest member of the Byrds, with whom he recorded three albums and toured extensively.
Skip Battin was a bass guitarist, singer and songwriter who played with the Byrds from 1969 to 1972, when they recorded three albums and toured internationally. He also had a rock'n'roll duo, Skip & Flip, and later joined New Riders of the Purple Sage and the Flying Burrito Brothers.
