Saint Flannan's College is an Irish co-educational secondary school located in Ennis, County Clare, which takes its name from the 7th century patron saint of the Dál gCais. It was formerly an all-boys boarding school; however, the first girls' class was entered in 2002 and in 2005 the boarding school was closed.
The second half of the 2023-2024 school year has been a very busy one. The 5th edition of our online e-magazine offers a selection of the events and occasions that have marked College life since Christmas last. I am immensely proud of all our students for their hard work, dedication and resilience throughout the year.

St. Flannan’s Story. The story of St. Flannan’s begins in the year 1846, some thirty five years before the building of the present College. In that year, the Diocese of Killaloe lent its prestige and patronage to the private academy conducted at Springfield House, Ennis by a Patrick Fitzsimons.
29. Jan. 2024 · A record 302 enrolment applications from 34 feeder schools have listed St. Flannan’s College as a first preference, up from 279 in 2023, prompting the Board of Management to approve an increase in the school’s intake of First Year students for the 2024/25 academic year.
