Masters and Nicol re-formed the Hot Rods in 1984, with T.C. (Tony Cranney) bassplayer from the "Fish and Chips" album and new guitarist Warren Kennedy. This line-up recorded the single "Fought for You". Tony Cranney was later replaced By Russ Strutter for the live mini-LP One Story Town, before the band split again in 1985.

31. Aug. 2018 · The original band of Masters, Douglas, bassist Paul Gray, guitarist Dave Higgs and drummer Steve Nicol released 3 full length albums. Paul Gray left the band and joined The Damned in 1980. With Tony Cranney taking over bass duties the Rods released Fish N Chips for EMI in 1980, but by the end of 1981 the band was over.
23. Aug. 2016 · Tony Cranney was drafted in to replace Tony Gray as Eddie and The Hot Rods’ bassist. The timing was perfect. Eddie and The Hot Rods had signed a new contract with EMI in August 1979. Soon, Tony Gray was on the move too.
