O'Bryant is a long time resident of Pegram, Tennessee. He has two grown sons, Calan and Ian, both of whom have become musicians as well. Check out their band, The Felt Shims, on MySpace. Alan currently gives private banjo lessons at the Musical Heritage Center of Middle Tennessee in Pegram.
The Nashville Bluegrass Band is an American bluegrass music ensemble founded in 1984. The group's members first played together in 1984 as a backing band for Vernon Oxford and Minnie Pearl; each of the members was an established musician from the Nashville bluegrass community. [1]

Alan O'Bryant had been working with a group called The Bluegrass Band — whose members included Butch Robbins (banjo), Ed Dye (bass), Dave Sebring (mandolin), and Blaine Sprouse (fiddle) — since the middle of 1982.
Alan O'Bryant (born December 26, 1955) is a bluegrass vocalist, banjoist, guitarist, arranger, songwriter and producer. He is a member of The Nashville Bluegrass Band.
