His solo albums include “Groove” on Hillsboro Records in 2002 followed by “December Morning” on Green Hill Records in 2006. Mark toured with Grammy Award winning artists Vince Gill and Amy Grant from ’06 to ’10 and is currently touring with Michael McDonald.

Born February 12th, 1960 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, saxophonist Mark Douthit attended Middle Tennessee State University and the Cincinnatti Conservatory. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music in jazz studies from University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1984, and studied with renowned jazz educator Jerry Coker.
Mark Douthit (dow’ thit) could very well be the most famous musician that people have never heard of. But the smooth jazz saxophonist, by his own estimation, has played alto, tenor, soprano or baritone sax on upwards of 4,000 albums by some of the top names in pop, R&B and jazz, including Whitney Houston, The Neville Brothers, Elton John ...
