José Medeles is an American musician and author based in Portland, Oregon. Medeles opened Revival Drum Shop in 2009, a store dedicated to vintage and custom drums. He currently leads 1939 Ensemble, a drums, vibraphone, trumpet, guitar, and noise quartet.
As a working drummer, he has created beats and sounds with The Breeders, 1939 Ensemble, Modest Mouse, Ben Harper, She & Him, Donavon Frankenreiter, M. Ward, Chris Funk (The Decemberists), Marisa Anderson, Rocco Deluca, CJ Ramone and many more. He has done work for HBO, TEDX & Nike.
