RENÉ coman. Bassist René Coman is a New Orleans native who has written and performed with the legendary Iguanas for over 20 years. Music from their records has been featured in movies and television programs including “The Wire,” “Homicide: Life on the Street,” “Treme,” and “Phenomenon.”
Bass player and native New Orleanian René Coman, and Memphis-raised drummer Doug Garrison, are both members of beloved, genre-crossing groups The Iguanas and Alex Chilton’s band. Georgia-raised fiddler and vocalist Rurik Nunan tours with Cracker and Dave Jordan, and is a former member of roots rockers The Whisky Gentry .
