Danny Churchill (Harve Presnell) is a young heir to a vast fortune who drives west to attend a college after causing a minor scandal back east. En route, he meets Ginger Gray (Connie Francis in her final cinema film), an attractive Pony Express mail delivery woman in rural Nevada.
When the Boys Meet the Girls (1965), set in the Swinging Sixties, is a very loose reworking of the George and Ira Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was previously filmed in 1932 with Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey and in 1942 with Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland.
