English saxophonist, oboe player, widely-respected film and television composer, and founding member of Roxy Music, was born July 23, 1946 in Lostwithiel, Cornwall but grew up in Pimlico in central London.
Andy Mackay wurde Produzent der britischen Fernsehserie Rock Follies, die 1976 und 1977 zwei kommerziell erfolgreiche LPs abwarf. 1978 bereiste Mackay die Volksrepublik China und veröffentlichte nach Beendigung dieser Reise das Album Resolving Contradictions.
