Vicki Anderson (born Myra Barnes; November 21, 1939 – July 3, 2023) was an American soul singer best known for her performances with the James Brown Revue. She recorded a number of singles under both her birth and stage names. She was the widow of Bobby Byrd and mother of musician Carleen Anderson .

5. Juli 2023 · Vicki Anderson was the lead female vocalist of the James Brown Revue in the 1960s and 1970s, and also released several solo singles. She died on July 3, 2023, and received tributes from fans and fellow musicians.
Died 4 July 2023 One of James Brown 's Soul Sisters. According to Mr. Brown's autobiography, Vicki Anderson was the best female singer he had in his revue. She Joined Brown in 1965 replacing Anna King and she held her position there until she was replaced by Marva Whitney 3 years after in 1968.
