The Innocent was the band Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails played with after leaving The Urge. He then moved on to the Exotic Birds before creating his own band, Nine Inch Nails. The other members were Alan Greenblatt (as Alan Greene), Kevin Valentine, Rodney Cajka (as Rodney Psyka) and Albritton McClain.

Primarily written during the first wave of the pandemic in 2020, and once again featuring orchestrations from NEW Sinfonia, this new album was made possible thanks to public funding from the Arts Council England. The Rapture features forthcoming singles The Light and All The Way Down.
