Soul Searching Sun is the third album released by Life of Agony in 1997 through Roadrunner Records. The album was co-produced and co-mixed by Life of Agony and Phil Nicolo of the Butcher Brothers at Studio 4 Recording in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

Life of Agony released their third album Soul Searching Sun in September 1997. It marked a slight change of style for the band. Der Nachfolger von River Runs Red erschien im Jahre 1995 und trägt den Namen Ugly. Nach der anschließenden Tour verließ Schlagzeuger Sal Abruscato die Gruppe, er wurde durch den ehemaligen Pro-Pain -Musiker Dan Richardson ersetzt. 1997 erschien das dritte Album Soul Searching Sun, welches betont weicher als seine Vorgänger ausfiel.
Der Trennungssong 'None' entpuppt sich unbeschadet aller Emotionalität als echtes Groovemonster, sodass auch Freunde des alten Bandsounds voll auf ihre Kosten kommen, und mit 'Angry Tree' hat LIFE OF AGONY eine der schönsten Rockballaden überhaupt geschaffen.
