  1. On 28th June 1972, the Command and Organizing Faculty in Vyškov was transformed into Military University of Ground Forces of Captain Otakar Jaroš. The command of the university was given to Colonel František Herodek. On 31st October 1972, Major-General Jozef Jurík took over the command.

  2. After World War II, the Tank Training Institution gradually came into existence, which was later followed by the Military School, the Higher Military School, and the Faculty of Command and Organizing, which was ended in 1972 when the Military University of Ground Forces was opened in Vyškov.

Institute of NBC Defence was established as an element of the University of Defence being deployed in Vyškov. 2006 – Initiation of students´ preparation in the study branch of Military Chemistry in a field of the study program „Military technologies“ running on the Faculty of Military Technology of the University of Defence.
