Sarah Porter (* 17. August 1813 in Farmington; † 18. Februar 1900 ebenda) war eine bekannte US-amerikanische Erzieherin und Gründerin der renommierten Privatschule für Mädchen. Sarah Porter war die Tochter des Gemeindevorstehers und Predigers Noah Porter (1781–1866) und seiner Frau Mehitable „Hetty“ Meigs (1786–1874).
Miss Porter's School (MPS) is a private college preparatory school for girls founded in 1843 in Farmington, Connecticut. The school draws students from many of the fifty U.S. states, as well as from abroad. International students comprised 14% in the 2017–2018 year. The average class size was 10 students in 2017.
Miss Porter’s School campus is part of the Town of Farmington’s Historic District in Connecticut, and the land on which we sit has a rich and remarkable history. Originally inhabited by the indigenous Tunxis tribe, colonists migrated to the area around 1634. The Tunxis people were pushed off their land over the course of a century.

Miss Porter’s School, founded in 1843 in Farmington, is an elite, female, privately funded, 40-acre, educational institution in central Connecticut. Its original mission was to train young girls to become useful Christian wives through development of their academic learning, moral values, social skills, and music and art appreciation.
