The DASS-21 (Lovibond and Lovibond 1995) consists of three 7-item scales designed to assess depression (DASS-21-D), anxiety (DASS-21-A), and stress symptoms (DASS-21-S). For example, we had initially wanted to use the 15-item Five-Factor Mindfulness Questionnaire (Baer et al. 2012) as a mindfulness measure, but the internal consistency for this measure was too low to be trusted (Cronbach's α = .47).
