James Frederick Lilja (born May 7, 1966) is an American gynecologic oncologist and a musician. He was the first drummer of the punk rock band the Offspring, performing with the band between 1984 and 1987.
Nach dem Ausstieg von Schlagzeuger James Lilja kam der damals erst 16 Jahre alte Ron Welty hinzu. 1989 wechselte die Band zum Independent-Label Nemesis/Cargo und veröffentlichte ihr Debütalbum The Offspring.

The band's longest-serving drummer was Ron Welty, who replaced original drummer James Lilja in 1987 and stayed for 16 years. Welty was replaced by Adam "Atom" Willard in 2003, who was replaced four years later by Pete Parada, who remained until he was fired from the band in 2021 after his doctor recommended against the COVID-19 vaccine.
