ABOUT CHARLIE. Charlie Mechling has been a member of Straight No Chaser since its inception in 1996. After graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Music and Theatre, he moved to Atlanta, where he and ill-fated singing group 10 to 5 were quickly signed by RCA Records.
