The band was formed in 1976 by a group of University of Leeds art students: Jon Langford, Kevin Lycett, Mark White, Andy Corrigan and Tom Greenhalgh—Gang of Four and Delta 5 formed from the same group of students.

20. Sept. 2019 · Mekons’ 1985 album Fear and Whiskey came out of a chaotic period of reinvention that followed the demise of Mekons mark one when Andy Corrigan and Mary Jenner left the band.
