3. Jan. 2024 · On January 2 1969, the Jimi Hendrix Experience flew into London from New York for a European tour that would start with a TV appearance on BBC1’s Happening For Lulu show. The band had spent virtually the whole of 1968 in America, and had played just one British show, at the Woburn Festival in July.
Returning to the BBC in 1969 with Happening for Lulu, the Scottish songstress with the 1 9 6 9 (UK) 13 x 45 minute shows Lulu's star was well-and-truly on the rise in the pop world when she was given her own Saturday night variety show by the BBC in 1968, Lulu's Back In Town.
