The Elders are fronted by Ian Byrne, a native of Ireland's County Wicklow, the band also consists of guitarist Steve Phillips (formerly of The Rainmakers), bassist Norm Dahlor, violinist and keyboardist Brent Hoad (formerly of The Secrets), drummer Kian Byrne, and fiddler Colin Farrell (Creel and Gráda).
Norm Dahlor is co-founder of The Elders---a band which he felt compelled to start because after years in the music business, playing all sorts of genres, it was Celtic rock that made him feel musically compete. Norm grew up and lives in Kansas City with his lovely family, including two daughters.
Bassist Ron Verlin, who had become disenchanted with the music industry, then departed; Norm Dahlor was recruited to take over. That same year the band was asked to record two songs for the movie soundtrack Up the Creek .

7. Feb. 2012 · Dahlor, Norm. Banjo player and bass guitarist who has been a mainstay in the Kansas City music scene for about thirty years. He was in a band called Nation with Steve Davis and the two of them went on to perform with Secrets which toured tirelessly in North America in the ’80s, playing over two hundred shows a year.
