James Graham, 8th Duke of Montrose, OStJ (born 6 April 1935), styled as the Earl of Kincardine until 1954 and the Marquess of Graham between 1954 and 1992, is a Scottish peer and Conservative politician in the House of Lords.

Duke of Montrose ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel, der zweimal in der Peerage of Scotland verliehen wurde. Er ist benannt nach der Stadt Montrose in Schottland. Familiensitz der Dukes ist Auchmar bei Loch Lomond. Der Inhaber des Titels ist gleichzeitig das Chief des Clans Graham.
In 1999, he was the only Duke elected to remain in the interim House along with 92 other hereditary peers. The Duke is currently the senior peer in government in the House of Lords with roles in farming, fishing, forestry and the environment.
James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose (1612 – 21 May 1650) was a Scottish nobleman, poet, soldier and later viceroy and captain general of Scotland. Montrose initially joined the Covenanters in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, but subsequently supported King Charles I as the English Civil War developed.

Duke of Montrose (named for Montrose, Angus) is a title that has been created twice in the Peerage of Scotland. The title was created anew in 1707, for James Graham, 4th Marquess of Montrose, great-grandson of famed James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose. [2]
