ABC News announced two specials, "Our Barbara: A Special Edition of 20/20" and " The View Honors Barbara Walters," celebrating legendary broadcast pioneer Barbara Walters (Sept. 25, 1929 – Dec. 30, 2022) following the death of the television icon who paved a path in journalism unlike any other.
Walters was a correspondent, producer and co-host on the ABC newsmagazine 20/20 from 1979 to 2004. She became known for an annual special aired on ABC, Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People .

5. Juli 2017 · In September 2004, after 25 years as co-host and chief correspondent of ABC News’ “20/20,” Walters left the show to begin a new phase in her career at the network. She remains an active member of the news division and network, substantially increasing the number of primetime ABC News specials, in addition to her “Barbara Walters Specials.”
