The Naval Academy is the second oldest of the five U.S. service academies and it educates midshipmen for service in the officer corps of the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. It is part of the Naval University System.

As the undergraduate college of our country’s naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Naval Academy students are midshipmen on active duty in the U.S. Navy.
You are eligible to apply for the United States Naval Academy if you meet the following criteria: A United States Citizen by 1 July of the year of entry; At least 17 years of age and must not have passed 23rd birthday on 1 July of the year of entry; Unmarried; Not pregnant and no dependents
