Korner's main career in the 1970s was in broadcasting. In 1973, he presented a six-part documentary on BBC Radio 1, The Rolling Stones Story, [3] and in 1977 he established a Sunday-night show on Radio 1, Alexis Korner's Blues and Soul Show, which ran until 1981. [4]

Often referred to as the father of British blues, Alexis Korner helped bring together many English blues musicians. He was a pioneer and major influence in the sound of the 1960's British pop groups. In 1978 he started to present a Sunday evening blues and soul show on Radio 1.
Alexis Korner. Born: 19th April 1928. Died: 1st January 1984 aged 55 years. Contribution to British Blues: formed the UK’s (and the world’s) first all-white, electric Blues Band; established the UK’s first Blues Clubs (The London Blues & Barrelhouse Club & The Ealing Club); and inspired a generation of new British Blues and R&B musicians.
