Seit 2010 wohnt Peter Scherer in Zürich, wo er vor allem Musik für Dokumentar- und Spielfilme komponiert. Er unterrichtet zudem an der HKB in Bern im Bereich Sound Arts, sowie an der ZHdK in Zürich im Bereich Musik für Film, Theater und Medien .

Evocative sound-scapes by an imaginative Swiss-born producer/composer who has worked with Caetano Veloso, Nana Vasconcelos, Laurie Anderson and choreographer Amanda Miller, and collaborated with Arto Lindsay as the Ambitious Lovers from 1984-91. Scherer's first solo album, Very Neon Pet, was released by EMI in 1995.
Very Neon Pet (Peter Scherer) Laurie plays the violin on this disc. Forgetting. The last track was written by Glass and Laurie Anderson. Unfortunately the vocals are by Linda Ronstadt backed by the Roches. ?? Laurie can be heard briefly on a recent release by Marisse Monte. She recites a brief poem in the middle of one song.
"VERY NEON PET is a fascinating excursion through a multicultural dream-state. Building up from pulsating beats, Scherer adds layers of intricate detail with trumpet, sampled voices, spare keyboard figures, guitars, violins and occasional bursts of noise".

Ignore the fact that Arto Lindsay and Laurie Anderson are credited on a couple of tracks, none of their neuroses are anywhere apparent on this particular CD.
