  1. Mackenzie High School was a public high school in Detroit, Michigan . History. Located on Detroit's west side, Mackenzie High School was named to honor David D. Mackenzie, who had served as principal of Central High School, and as first dean of the city college that would become Wayne State University .

  3. 16. Sept. 2017 · Mackenzie High School had an outstanding reputation and was one of the largest schools in the state by 1950 as the student body swelled to 5,000. However, the city population began to decline throughout the 1950s and continued to do so for several decades.
